I know, I know, I never blog you anymore. Do we have to argue about this every time I visit? Lets just be glad I’m here, and leave it at that. Have some more bundt cake.
We’ve been dutifully touring away, as I’m sure you’ve noticed… Our faithful van, the Millenium Falcon, finally breathed her last, and was subsequently relegated to the great shipyard in the sky. I whistled The Last Post while they took her away, so I feel I’ve paid my respects. And then proceeded to spend a week touring in a rented minivan, which was even less fun than it sounds. But, thanks to the good people at Liccardi Motors in New Jersey, we finally got our hands on a brand new van. Its blue.
This tour is nearly over. Only two more shows, and then we can finally return to our beds. Briefly. It never really ends, does it? We got to play our first headlining show at the famous Bowery Ballroom in New York, a venue that everyone from New York has been praising to me since I started playing in a band. And you know what? They were right. The lovely Ra Ra Riot joined us on stage for our encore, and even though most of their instruments weren’t actually plugged in for most of the song, they looked really cool up there, and thats half the battle. We’ll be sorry to leave them behind in Boston tonight. But everyone should listen to them right now, because they’re one of the best bands going at the moment.
I’m sick of living out of a suitcase. Everything is always buried under everything else, clean clothes mingle shamelessly with dirty, and nothing is as it seems.
