Hey everyone, we’re finished with the tour and we’re back on solid ground in Toronto. The tour was a great success, so thank you to everyone who came out to the shows. We had some amazing audiences on this tour and if you were in one of them, we love you. If you weren’t, SHAME ON YOU. Not really, we love you too and we’ll come back and see you soon. We actually went through four soccer balls in one week on this tour. Hows that for progress?
But now we’re back in Toronto, holed up in a fancy rehearsal studio with metal bands on every side, working furiously at reshaping all of the new songs into better and cooler versions. Theres a lot of mirrors in the room, and Greg keeps staring himself down while drumming, which is hilarious to watch. Maybe I’ll take some pictures. In any event, I’ll try to keep updating here, but things may be sparse until we return to the studio at the end of the month.
I know we keep pushing things later and later, but its only because we want to make a wonderful record for all of you to love and cherish and tuck under your pillow while you sleep at night.

Now We're On Tour

Fall has always been my favorite season. Feeling that bite in the air, pulling out a coat, crunching through fallen leaves as you walk. It makes me feel romantic, and so its especially galling to be spending the first days of the season driving from city to city once again. I can’t say I had a blast in the studio, but at least I had a bed to myself and knew where I was when I woke up. What a life we lead…
In Victoria today. Its sensational how many people are perfectly happy to invite themselves into our dressing room and help themselves to our food and drink. Nathan from Cold War Kids made a good analogy about how it would feel to have some stranger waltz uninvited into your bedroom and start flipping through your magazines and using your toothbrush, and I really do understand what he means. Its the only sanctuary we have on the road, and having people treat it like their personal party zone is pretty irksome. Anyway…
After this tour we’re going home for a couple of weeks to regroup and rewrite some songs, and then its back into the studio to (hopefully) wrap things up there. And then we’re going to stop for a very short while, and do it all again. I can’t imagine having to start the wheels turning again when they’ve barely stopped, but such is the nature of what we do.
Thanks everyone whos come to the shows so far, you’ve all been great. If we missed you this time, don’t worry, we’ll be back before you know it.
