digipacks VS jewelcases:
which do you prefer?
scroll down for record update…..
Digipak, all the way! More chances for cool gatefold artwork, and the such.
dean, on March 9th, 2010 at 6:37 pm
Digipak, in it’s entirety. That would be totally rad.
Kopiok, on March 9th, 2010 at 6:44 pm
It’s gotta be Digipak and their multi-folding action.
nathaniel, on March 9th, 2010 at 7:10 pm
in other news… so stoked.
Joshua, on March 9th, 2010 at 7:26 pm
Either, really…but digipak would be sexy
Jacob, on March 9th, 2010 at 7:51 pm
Digipak has my vote one hundred percent.
Two folds are always better than one.
David, on March 9th, 2010 at 8:08 pm
I love that you’re asking for this opinion
Well…… While digipaks are amazingly cool, jewelcases have such a sentimental feel to them.
If that makes any sense.
They’re just a classic.
Erin D, on March 9th, 2010 at 8:43 pm
they always look cooler and i am more willing to buy an actual cd if it is a dijipack.
buuuut i’d buy yr cd even if it came in jewelcase form.
nahomi, on March 9th, 2010 at 9:09 pm
Digipak, with removable booklet FTW.
Jim, on March 9th, 2010 at 9:33 pm

claire, on March 9th, 2010 at 9:41 pm
Digipack haha this is no contest
Steven is Champ, on March 9th, 2010 at 10:20 pm
has the knack
for spreadable art
to stand apart
a package like
days of yore
when album art
served the core
Wodewick of Woddingham, on March 9th, 2010 at 10:36 pm

I’m late, I know… but jewel cases are my favorite.
Jennifer Christa, on March 10th, 2010 at 1:27 am
Neither…I want vinly+digital download
Erik, on March 10th, 2010 at 2:42 am
a jewel encrusted platinum holding chalice, inlaid with a filigree of the finest gold. marble hub teeth to hold my compact disk. a disk tray which says that i am the coolest when i press a button. a small monthly subscription fee paid so that i may call a telephone number to talk with a member of tokyo police club – TPChat, they would call it.
cover art painted by one hundred artisans of full-figured beauties weeping over music so moving , so precious, it transcends genre, erases fears, ends time. constant cheeseburgers provided to mouth. “Always” by Erasure as a ringtone. crystal sound. crystal case. crystal pepsi.
or a digipak. whatever is easier. the choice is yours. the choice is all of ours. we have made it. it was the right one.
godspeed you choosers. you have shaped all of our future. our tomorrow will be brighter and tomorrow is today. today is yesterday. yesterday didn’t happen. this the right time. the right now.

no, I change my mind,,,jewel case with booklet and all

Digipak – they offer added value to a CD release and you can even get bio-degradable trays inserted in them now.
Jewel cases tend to be fragile.
Rebecca, on March 10th, 2010 at 10:18 am
Valentina, on March 10th, 2010 at 2:17 pm
Definitely digipak. The CD booklets always seem to be damaged when they come in jewel cases.
James, on March 10th, 2010 at 2:39 pm
digipak, if you do something creative with the design
radmike, on March 10th, 2010 at 3:41 pm
myblogsdontlie, on March 10th, 2010 at 3:56 pm
You are casing a jewel aren’t you?
Mike, on March 10th, 2010 at 4:17 pm
as a graphic designer I prefer stylish digipak all the way!!!!!
Ryan, on March 10th, 2010 at 7:28 pm

Matt, on March 10th, 2010 at 7:38 pm
stout, on March 11th, 2010 at 12:28 am
Digipack, but I still have a soft spot for oft cracked jewel cases.
Mauricio, on March 11th, 2010 at 2:01 pm
I’m down with Scott. However, I prefer full paper cases over digipack. Maybe even recycled paper, or news paper, old ticket stubs?
How about you go down to the second hand shop, buy old albums, and use those cases, with the same booklets. That would confuse the hell out of most.
Matt, on March 11th, 2010 at 2:09 pm
Digipak, not even a question.
Scott, on March 11th, 2010 at 2:11 pm
DIGIPAAAAAAK. you have to make this stuff GOOD, the presentation of your music is the second thing i anticipate the most when getting a new cd!! make it beeyooteefull please and thankyou with cherries on top
Megan, on March 11th, 2010 at 4:18 pm
Digipacks remind me of record jackets. On the other hand, the old school jewel cases remind me of my first cd’s, I love the way the front gets all scuffed up but the booklet stays pristine. So you have to ask yourself – maybe by holding a comittee, maybe just a panel – do you want to remind me of records? or my youth?
Oh, I lost the jewel case to elephant shell, I’m apparently irresponsible? Still have the disc and the booklet at least. It’s never happened before (or since) tho, usually I lose the disc and have to burn a new one, but I seem to have bad luck with TPC LPs? Make a note of it ok?
Braedon, on March 11th, 2010 at 4:24 pm
digipak would be neat! of course I’d be stoked about either, with an awesome booklet with lyrics inside. it’s really cool that y’all are asking for input!
kelter skelter, on March 11th, 2010 at 4:34 pm
DIGIPACK!!! So Good
Sal Panza, on March 11th, 2010 at 4:54 pm
Digipacks all the way!
Tonto the Bronto, on March 11th, 2010 at 5:51 pm
Very excellent comment, Scott!
Wodewick of Woddingham, on March 11th, 2010 at 8:56 pm

Less Plastic, More Awesome !
Maro Leon, on March 11th, 2010 at 11:50 pm
Jewelcases are epic.
Digipaks are decent.
Epic V.S. Decent?
kimcho, on March 11th, 2010 at 11:58 pm
…But I also Really loved Elephant Shell and it’s packaging.
It’s a toss up.
kimcho, on March 11th, 2010 at 11:59 pm
digipak, please: the more square cm for art, and the less plastic the better!
renee, on March 12th, 2010 at 1:09 am
You should only make vinyls
Casey, on March 12th, 2010 at 1:32 am
Eric, on March 13th, 2010 at 12:21 am

Soph, on March 19th, 2010 at 6:38 pm
DEFINITELY what Erik said. Vinyl + digital download.
But for the sake of the poll, digipak. Obviously.
Marko, on March 19th, 2010 at 9:16 pm
I feel that I would be most excited on digipak!
Michael Rodriguez, on April 7th, 2010 at 4:42 am
