Look Out, its Studio Diary Time!
Written 19 September 2007 by Graham Wright
I woke up late today due to too much late night CSI watching, a mistake that I’m repeating as I write this. By the time I got upstairs, Greg and Dave were already tracking the bass and drums for Centennial. I was still annoyed at how things went yesterday, so I sat on the couch reading magazines while they did the take. Luckily I wasn’t needed for recording, so no one noticed any difference from my usual time killing activities.
The drums needed some editing, and while that took place Greg, Josh, and I set up some gear in the small rehearsal room downstairs. We let off some steam jamming for a while, and immediatley felt better about things. Theres something about leaving behind the pressure of what you’re supposed to be doing and doing something else that really improves the mood. In fact, thats how Tokyo Police Club got started in the first place, as an outlet for Josh, Greg, and Dave to play for fun while we started to hit walls with our old band.
Good humour restored, we spent the rest of the day working on Nursery, Academy. It sounds great and seems to me like a probable single. But then again, what do I know. Theres still too many tracks on it, but that just makes it fun to edit. And then we made caramel apples and went to bed.
I’m trying to figure out how to add pictures to these things, so maybe tomorrow…

I was watching CSI: Miami late Sunday/early Monday morning. It was crazy. They were showing cocaine in a marble form, and then how you break it down. It was mind blowing. Well, it was at 3AM.
Yay, pictures. You better post them on Monday. Get your photoshop on, man!
